Projet Basilique

The Miraculous Medal Basilica project was a source of great distress for Villedrouin. Members of the Congregation of Saint Vincent de Paul had commissioned him to build a place of worship on an unsuitable site in Tabarre. Unfortunately, the project never came to fruition due to a lack of resources. Villedrouin collaborated extensively with his nephew, Nicolas Wiener—an architect based in Brazil—to create digital renderings that reflected his vision for the project. He also built traditional models using balsam wood to render the project in three dimensions. He devoted three years of his life to the project, which was ultimately abandoned in 2014.
