Lawyer Théodore Achille—a man who fully shared the architectural vision of his friend, the architect Villedrouin—owned a notable residence in the heart of Port-au-Prince.
• Originally a typical house with masonry walls and a sheet-metal roof, it was transformed by Villedrouin in the 1980s.
• This building served as Mr. Achille’s first office, though he occupied it for only a year and a half before leaving the country. Following his departure, the property was requisitioned by ISPAN (Institute for the Safeguarding of National Heritage).
Despite the damage caused by the 2010 earthquake, the building had not fallen into ruin. Villedrouin, in partnership with Nicolas Wiener—the architect's nephew—developed new plans to merge the existing structure with an expansion project that included a conference center, offices, and apartments. However, despite meticulous research, the project was abandoned. The house was sold and demolished in 2016.
