Maison Marassa
Montagne Noire
Construction: 1978
The second house built for Jean-Claude Armand was completed in eight months—a record speed for Villedrouin. It was designed using a stepped form work system: the perimeters of the triangles are cast in concrete during the first stage, while the floors are structured using right-angled triangles formed from quarter-sheets of 1.20-meter plywood.
The idea of using these triangles stemmed from the challenging nature of the site, which was marked by undulations caused by rocky outcrops.
