Subcontracting Factories
Tabarre
Construction: 1972-1974
The architect built two factories: one for his mother and the other for a cousin. Both buildings were located in an industrial development zone near the airport, designated for subcontracting factories.
The factories were designed using prefabricated beams and polygonal vaults, limiting the use of timber and reducing form-work costs.
The first factory is distinguished by a high vault, contrasting with the one shown in the image, where the vault reaches the ground.
The structures, segmented into 7-meter sections with a total length of 28 meters, featured openings for light and air circulation. This approach proved effective: the interior remained cool, even in the intense heat of the plain—unlike other facilities that require air conditioning.
