Maison Philippe
Bourdon
This was the first house built by Pierre-Richard Villedrouin in Haiti.
He designed it while studying in Mexico.
The Mexico connection was central to the commission. One of his closest friends, Serge Augustin, who was also studying in Mexico, made the introduction to his brother in law: Monod Philippe.
This private home, perched on fairly step terrain, previews what would be Villedrouin's signature style: bold planes interconnecting harmoniously and creating surprising and generous spaces.
