Maison Armand
Place Boyer
Renovation: 1993-1996

This residence—the birthplace of the architect’s mother, Clotilde Armand Villedrouin, in 1904—holds both sentimental and historical significance. At the time, Pétionville was still a rural area, and the Armand family had moved there from the city center.

The house was passed on to the architect’s sister, Monique Villedrouin Salgado. Villedrouin undertook the restoration of the property, encouraged by an enthusiastic tenant who became a dear friend: Andrea Latini.
Mr. Latini influenced the layout of the kitchen—now spacious and functional—as well as the design of the long, narrow swimming pool, which is well-suited for lap swimming.
It is safe to say that the friendship between the two men partially inspired M Latini to change professional paths to become an architect himself.  He fondly calls his "mentor" Maestro.
Today, the building houses a highly regarded restaurant on Place Boyer: Le Café Albert.
